 License has expired...
Hello,
Each time I open NEV on one of the machines here I get the window that says, "Your license to receive products updates has expired...etc." We are in the process of renewing the licenses for all the machines here, but the wheels turn slow. Now, each time I reboot a box, the NEV service does not start on start-up as it used to. Is this related to the license expiring? Any info is appreciated...thanks.

 Re: License has expired...
The service startup is never effected by licensing. What is the error in the service log file?

 Re: License has expired...
There is nothing in the NEV service log about the service not stating on boot up, but in the windows system log file I get:
Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7009 Date: 1/14/2010 Time: 6:52:00 PM User: N/A Computer: XXXXXXXX Description: Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Network Event Viewer service to connect.
Followed by:
Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7000 Date: 1/14/2010 Time: 6:52:00 PM User: N/A Computer: XXXXXXX Description: The Network Event Viewer service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I XXX out the computer names for security here.
any ideas???

 Re: License has expired...
There should be another entry in the application or system log that shows the nev.exe crashing. Please find it and post it. Sounds to me like the .Net framework is corrupt. Please try re-installing the .Net 2.0 framework.
