Directory Size Report Fails on Large Network Path
We recently purchased the Disk Monitor software after having evaluated all the aspects we needed. However, I just ran into a situation with the Directory Size Reporting on a large drive.
Basically, if I manually start a Directory Size Report on a large drive (a LUN) of over 600 GB, the report just quits after a couple of hours with no error or dialog (I expect the report to take about 3 to 4 hours). I decided to setup the "scheduled" DSR to see if it made a difference. This time, an alert I setup e-mailed me the following error:
"The specified network name is no longer valid."
The path I'm using is an administrative share: \\OurServer\F$
I can immediately check after receiving the error and there are no issues with the network name. Additionally, I can use other directory size tools on this path without issue and users are using this path with no interruptions at all. I have no idea why Disk Monitor keeps seeing a disconnect when nothing else does.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Directory Size Report Fails on Large Network Path
Sorry for the delay, we missed your question.
When running the scan manually, does the system run out of memory? There is a log file that might contain more information. Look for the following file once the program fails:
Windows Server 2003/XP/2000 c:\documents and settings\[user]\application data\CornerBowl\DiskMonitor\ui.log
Windows Server 2008/7/Vista c:\users\[user]\appdata\roaming\CornerBowl\DiskMonitor\ui.log
Please send this file to support@cornerbowl.com for reivew.
Have you setup the service to run with domain admin credentials? If not please select Change Service Logon from the Service menu item.

Re: Directory Size Report Fails on Large Network Path
I can't seem to ever catch the UI.LOG entry in time since it is overwritten each time.
I have e-mailed you further information and a related isssue. Thanks.
